How do I delete a lot of photos on my iPhone quickly?
In the Photos app you can tap Select and drag your finger across many photos to select them, then tap the trash icon. To decide photo by photo without the tapping, use a swipe app like Gallery Guru: it shows one photo at a time, you swipe left to delete and right to keep, then delete everything in one go. Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Gallery Guru works on your device only and does not upload your photos or videos to any server. It even works offline. You don’t need an account.
Can I get deleted photos back?
Yes, on iPhone. Photos you delete with Gallery Guru go to the “Recently Deleted” album in the Photos app, where you can restore them for 30 days. Before that, you can undo a swipe and change your picks in the review grid. How to restore recently deleted photos.
Does deleting in Gallery Guru also free up iCloud storage?
Yes. If iCloud Photos is turned on, deletions sync to all your devices and to iCloud, so the space is freed there too (after “Recently Deleted” is emptied or the 30 days are over). iCloud storage full? Here’s what to do.
Does Gallery Guru find duplicate or blurry photos automatically?
No. Gallery Guru does not scan or analyze your photos. You decide about each photo yourself, which is faster than it sounds with one swipe per photo – and you never lose a photo because an algorithm thought it was a duplicate. Using the app
Does swiping delete photos right away?
No. Swiping only marks photos. They are deleted when you confirm in the review grid – and even then, on iPhone they go to “Recently Deleted” for 30 days first.
Can I undo a swipe?
Yes, with one tap on the undo button. You can also deselect any photo in the review grid.
What about favorites and albums?
You can favorite a photo, add it to an album or share it right from the card. It works with your regular Photos app.
What do the statistics show?
How much storage you freed, how many photos and videos you sorted, kept and deleted, how much time you saved and how much you swiped this week.
What are bonus swipes?
On top of the 50 daily swipes, you get a gift of bonus swipes at the end of each month – a reminder lets you know.
