Terms and conditions

Last updated: 21 October 2026

This is an English translation of our German terms and conditions (AGB). In case of doubt, the German version applies.

The key points

1. Scope and provider

These terms apply to the use of the Gallery Guru app for iOS and Android (“App”) and the website gallery-guru.app. The provider is:

Warin Winnicke
Alsterdorfer Str. 165
22297 Hamburg
Germany
VAT ID: DE356662333
Email: info@gallery-guru.app

The licence for the App is additionally governed by the End-User License Agreement (EULA). Users' own terms do not apply.

2. Services

Gallery Guru is an app for cleaning up the photo and video library on your device: it shows photos and videos sorted by month, you mark them for deletion or keeping with a swipe, and you delete the marked items together after a review screen. The App can be used without a purchase and without a time limit; the free version includes a limited number of swipes per day. Gallery Guru Pro unlocks additional features; which ones, and the limits of the free version, are shown on the pricing page and in the App before you buy.

With your permission, Gallery Guru accesses your device's photo library. Deletion uses the operating system's functions: on iPhone, deleted photos and videos go to the “Recently Deleted” album, where they can usually be restored for 30 days; if iCloud Photos is on, the deletion syncs to all devices. Whether and for how long deleted items can be restored on Android depends on the device and operating system.

3. Purchases through the App Store and Google Play

You buy Gallery Guru Pro in the App via Apple's (App Store) or Google's (Google Play) in-app purchase. The purchase contract, including payment, is concluded under the terms of the respective store; Apple or Google handle billing. The prices shown in the store before purchase apply, including VAT.

We offer subscriptions with different periods (e.g. week, month, quarter, year) and “Lifetime”, a one-time purchase that never renews and unlocks Gallery Guru Pro permanently for your store account. The offers shown to you may vary.

4. Subscriptions, cancellation and restoring

5. Trials and special offers

If the App offers a free trial or an introductory price, its length, the price afterwards and the renewal are shown before purchase. A trial that isn't cancelled in time through the store converts into the chosen paid subscription. Free trials granted directly by the App without payment details end automatically.

6. Withdrawal and refunds

As purchases are processed by Apple or Google, withdrawal and refunds follow their rules; you request a refund directly from the store (Apple: reportaproblem.apple.com, Google: in Google Play). Statutory consumer rights remain unaffected. If something doesn't work, write to us – we're happy to help.

7. Rights of use and obligations

You receive a simple, non-transferable right to use the App on your devices for private and professional purposes; details are set out in the EULA. In particular, you may not manipulate the App or website, circumvent their security mechanisms, decompile them beyond what the law permits, or retrieve website content automatically at a scale that impairs its operation.

8. Deleting photos, your responsibility and backups

Gallery Guru only deletes photos and videos that you have marked for deletion yourself and whose deletion you have confirmed. You are responsible for checking before deleting whether you still need the content, and for keeping a separate backup of important photos and videos (e.g. on a computer or in a cloud service). Gallery Guru does not upload your photos and does not create backups. Your progress in the App (e.g. which months you have already reviewed) is stored only locally on your device. How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.

9. Availability and further development

We keep developing Gallery Guru and adapt the App to new versions of iOS and Android. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of services that need an internet connection or third-party services (e.g. store purchases). We only change paid features for a valid reason – for example new operating system versions, security, or because Apple, Google or other providers change their interfaces – and within the limits of § 327r of the German Civil Code (BGB).

10. Website content

We prepare the guides on this website (e.g. iOS and Android menu paths) carefully but without warranty – Apple and Google change their systems with updates.

11. Liability

We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health and under the German Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are only liable for breach of an essential contractual obligation (cardinal obligation) whose fulfilment makes the proper performance of the contract possible in the first place and on whose observance you may regularly rely – limited to the foreseeable damage typical for the contract. Otherwise, liability for slight negligence is excluded. For loss of data we are only liable for the effort that would have been needed to restore it with regular backups (section 8); we are not liable for photos and videos whose deletion you confirmed, unless an error in the App deleted items other than those you marked. Statutory warranty rights remain unaffected.

12. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms if the App, legal requirements or the stores' terms change. We'll inform you about material changes in good time in the App or on this website. Changes that affect existing paid services to your disadvantage only apply with your consent where the law requires it.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

The law of the Federal Republic of Germany applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another country, the mandatory consumer protection rules of that country remain unaffected. If you are a merchant, a legal entity under public law or a special fund under public law, the place of jurisdiction is Hamburg.

14. Dispute resolution

We are neither willing nor obliged to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.

15. Final provisions

If any provision of these terms is invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions is unaffected. The statutory provisions take the place of the invalid provision.

16. Contact

We're happy to answer questions about these terms via the contact page or by email at info@gallery-guru.app.
